Celebrating Our Seniors!
Being a senior athlete in any sport is very special. Players play their way through many levels of play, from U8 on, training and playing hard in and out of the season to help the program move forward and improve.
As a senior, all eyes are focused on you and your classmates as leaders. Our senior players, have taken us to incredible heights and supported us through some very tough times. The coaching staff will continue to expect significant contributions from all seniors, no matter which level (V/JV), or how many years they have played. You are our fearless leaders in training and games, the team counts on you!
Each year, the SLPHS Girls Soccer team recognizes all senior student-athletes for the commitment they demonstrate and the leadership they have provided us over the years. We do this in two ways.
First, at a selected home contest, all seniors and their parents are invited to be recognized at half-time by their teammates, coaches and fans. Whenever possible, we try to have all seniors (V and JV) suit up for the game, play a few minutes of the game, etc. However, depending on the opponent and implications/standings, this part of the celebration is not guaranteed.
Second, each year the junior parents and players prepare a party to recognize the contributions and gifts which our seniors bestow upon us throughout the course of their years at SLP. Parents and players are all invited to attend.
We all shed a tear at the thought of saying good-bye and hope that all of our seniors will take the time whenever possible to come back to see a game, practice and just say hi when in SLP.
Thanks for all you've done!
